Songs About Security: Devil’s in the Detail

Devil’s in the Details is taken from The Hoosiers’ second album which I was not aware of having existed before discovering this track.

Famous for slightly irritating tracks such as Worried About Ray and Goodbye Mr A, both of which are sung in the lead singer’s almost unbearable falsetto, The Hoosiers apparently released their follow-up in 2010.

The album was titled The Illusion of Safety, and it led to the band leaving their record label, Sony, in 2011, with their lead singer Irwin Sparkes saying: “I don’t think many people knew that the second album had been released, so we’re having to reissue it to bring it to people’s awareness.”

The original release sold somewhere in the region of 25,000 copies, and frankly no-one (on Wikipedia) knows how many the re-issue sold.

However, this track is quite nice, and stands out for the fact that it’s actually sung by the drummer.

So knowing that, as you now do, you won’t be subjected to Irwin Sparkes’ wailing, why not give it a listen? And think about keeping your personal details safe while you do so.
