State of Physical Access Trend Report 2024

State of the art installation at San Francisco museum

Using software from DataCom and Ethernet network switches from Blade Network Technologies, the museum was able to retain its 130 analogue cameras. Each network video server display live vide and provides straightforward access locally or remotely. Because the system compresses images on a 64-bit video capture board, it free more than 80% of resources for enterprise applications, explains IBM. The BladeCenter is equipped with Nortel’s Blade Network Technologies’ Nortel Layer 2/3 Gigabit Ethernet switch modules to provide the required bandwidth, speed and security for multiple video feeds.

The Asian Art Museum is home to the largest collection of Asian art – valued at around $4 billion – in the United States. It holds more than 16,000 works of art, spanning some 6,000 years of history.
