Two new standards published by BSI
BS 8473:2006 gives guidance on the management of intruder and hold-up alarm systems and the management of alarm conditions when they occur in order to reduce the ‘nuisance factor’ and waste of resources in responding to false alarms. It applies to all remotely notified intruder and hold-up alarm systems and also applies to some audible-only systems.
BS 7858:2006 deals with security screening of individuals employed in a security environment. It includes information and recommendations on acquisitions and transfers, ancillary staff, contractors and subcontractors, individuals employed in security screening, records, and the security screening process.
