Utimaco opens office in India
Utimaco Safeware AG, a data security company and a member of the Sophos Group, on Tuesday announced the opening of its new office in Mumbai.
The new office opening signals Utimaco’s increased focus on extending its brand to all corners of the globe.
Utimaco solutions have been marketed in India through value added distributors including WeP India Ltd and IValue Infosolutions Pvt Ltd for more than a year.
Further international efforts
On the heels of recent expansion in the United States, Poland, Australia and New Zealand, Utimaco saw the opportunity to further its international efforts of delivering comprehensive, 360 degree security solutions to growing, successful international markets.
The Asia/Pacific region accounted for 40.6 per cent of worldwide real GDP growth in 2008, a notable increase from 33 per cent in 2007, and leading analyst firm Gartner forecasts continued expansion through 2012.
“Within the Asia Pacific region, India is considered to be one of the most promising and important future markets,” said Marc Wilczek, managing director Asia Pacific, Utimaco. “Therefore, it plays a vital role in our global growth strategy.”
Tap regional growth
Through the combination of Utimaco’s product lines and the customer relationships already established in Mumbai and surrounding areas, the company will further position itself as a leading provider of data security and encryption solutions.
“The opening of Utimaco’s India office will help us tap the rapid regional economic growth in Mumbai and meet increased demand for our leading information protection and control solutions across the vertical market spectrum,” said Altaf Halde, country manager, India.
