Following regional heats, Verity beat out seven other finalists in the grand final to take the prestigious prize.
She performed a rendition of her song ‘Acid Glue’ on acoustic guitar in front of a live audience at Mitie’s management conference. She received a standing ovation from the audience.
Unbelievable
“It was really good,” Verity said. “I was absolutely petrified because I have never sung on my own with a guitar in front of people before, so it was interesting to see what everyone thought. It was also really nice to meet so many people from across Mitie.”
The talent show was presented by Sharon and Ozzy Osborne look-a-likes. “I was, and still am, over the moon about the whole thing,” Verity said. “I have been out celebrating with friends but I still can’t really believe it.”
Laying down tracks
Her prize is an all expenses paid weekend in London and a full day in the recording studio to lay down her tracks.
The eight talented finalists were picked from over 50,000 Mitie employees and gave outstanding performances on the night.
