State of Physical Access Trend Report 2024

Versatile range

“Sophisticated electronics combined with high performance mechanical lockcases make electric locks suitable for use in high security areas, within access control systems and also in conjunction with door operators, to provide hands-free functionality”, says Abloy.

It supplies an “extensive range of standards-compliant motor and solenoid locks”.

The company says its locks – which have “easy to set functions within a single lockcase” – are popular with specifiers and installers. Assa Evolution electric locks are also either mechanically or electro-mechanically controlled from either side of the door. For applications where a high-security mechanical option is required, Abloy Protec electric locks provide the additional level of performance.

“All electric locks supplied by Abloy UK comply with the BS EN179 and BS EN1125 standards for emergency and panic exit doors, and have also been tested to BS EN1634-1 for fire resistance (when used with the correct strike and or handles).”
