VisioWave acquired by GE

“VisioWave’s technology, customer relationships and industry insight fit well with our business and will help our customers accelerate improvements in their security infrastructure,” said Louis Parker, COO of GE Infrastructure, Security. “VisioWave focuses on customers’ business needs, which enables them to create a compelling value proposition.”

VisioWave focuses on security, including intelligent CCTV, video surveillance and monitoring, and also has expertise in media applications such as multimedia intranets, corporate TV and information broadcasting. Parkers said it “offers a comprehensive range of solutions for applications that require the integrated transmission, management, analysis and storage of extremely high-quality digital video”.

l VisioWave’s Digital Video Security Networks products have been selected by Enhance Communications, in conjunction with Tube Lines, to upgrade the CCTV systems on London’s Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly underground lines.

Under the agreement, VisioWave will supply its digital video equipment, including “integrated high capacity embedded secure video recording for high end video security network architecture”. The first phase of deployment includes the enhanced CCTV system installation, with about 350 cameras installed in eight stations.

Tube Lines is responsible for the upgrade of the three tube lines, which involves around 100 stations. the upgrade programme includes providing better passenger information, new PA systems, enhancing CCTV, and introducing intelligent maintenance systems.
