Wireless IP system covers US road race
Four cameras are mounted on the racing car to monitor areas such as the drivers upper body movements, and views from the front and the rear. The video images are fed to ACTi’s SED-2310Q codecs, also mounted on the car, where they are converted into digital images. They are then transmitted using Cisco wireless equipment at 30 images/second at D1 resolution to a mobile trailer for monitoring and recording.
The system can also transmit in ‘multicast without control protocol’, allowing different recipients to view the same images without affecting bandwidth.
