When tackling re-designed plates its learning process enables it to rapidly distinguish between similar characters such as 1 and I, 8 and B and O and 0.
It can determine the most likely country of origin of the plate and uses its learning process to apply the syntax rules of that country to distinguish between similar characters.
It is said to read all EU plates including military, non-reflective and Belgian red plates.
