A West Midlands Fire Service appliance was caught on CCTV crashing into a shop this week, narrowly avoiding crushing two men sat outside.
The shocking CCTV video emerged after the driver of a fire engine appears to lose control and crash through the window of a phone shop in the Moseley area of Birmingham, shortly before 6pm.
It’s understood the fire officers were on an emergency call when the driver attempted a three-point turn outside the shop.
According to eyewitness reports at the scene the driver sounded the siren moments before the accident to alert the two men who were sat outside the PhoneLab shop.
In the video you can see them both sharply look up and then dive out of the way just in time.
No one is believed to have been injured in the accident, but the emergence of this video is sure to make embarrassing viewing for West Midlands Fire and Rescue Service as well as the driver concerned.
