The EHC3 housing is an oversize version of Conway’s EHC4 unit, and has been given type approval from Infraco JNP. Infraco JNP is a subsidiary of LU, with full responsibility for the infrastructure and assets of the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines.
Of the 50 stations along the Northern Line, no less than 14 are located above ground (many of them in the area north of Hampstead). The Conway housings are being used in conjunction with lenses supplied by Ernitec and digital cameras from Grundig.
