In terms of the IP cameras, Dynacolor, Pixord and Siqura from Optelecom-NKF are among the mix, alongside megapixel cameras from Mobotix, Panasonic, Pelco and Sony in conjunction with Mirasys recorders.
Drivers for this extended functionality will be available as standard in the newest versions of Mirasys NVR Pro and NVR Enterprise (due to start shipping to clients this month, in fact), while the previous versions of Mirasys recorders are easy to update thanks to the latest software upgrades.
“We’ve responded to customers demanding increased choice in cameras by upgrading our capabilities in IP camera support,” said Jukka Riivari, chief executive officer at Mirasys. “This move, combined with the trend towards standardisation and continuous improvements in IP camera offerings, will extend the number of integrated camera models supported by Mirasys to over 500 by the end of this year.”
Ranked third in the EMEA marketplace
Mirasys is now ranked third in its core EMEA marketplace for open system video management software (according to a comprehensive research report published by IMS Research).
Mirasys’ flagship products NVR Pro and NVR Enterprise support the world’s first full line of H.264 megapixel video surveillance cameras from Arecont Vision. Mirasys was also a leading player in the drive to integrate high-resolution IP cameras into a range of surveillance systems for customers around Europe, together with Axis and IQ-in-Vision.
According to the company, the increased range of cameras now supported by Mirasys cements its position as an innovator of enhanced functionality for affordable, user-friendly IP video systems.
Software-only digital surveillance solutions
NVR Pro and NVR Enterprise are next generation NVR (Network Video Recorder) software-only digital surveillance solutions. Mirasys NVR Pro is a single server IP video recording solution aimed for the needs of businesses of all sizes with support of up to 32 cameras.
Mirasys’ NVR Enterprise, on the other hand, is a multiple server and channel solution aimed at medium and large-scale companies that can support up to 5,000 IP cameras (and which can be managed as a single, distributed surveillance system).
Both NVR Pro and NVR Enterprise are available through Mirasys distributors worldwide.
Joining forces with Pivot3
Pivot3 – a market leader in high-definition storage – and Mirasys have also announced at IFSEC that they’re joining forces to bring the benefits of their combined open-platform video solutions to the European market.
The companies are demonstrating the interoperability of their products at IFSEC throughout this week, and will be collaborating to simplify configuration, integration and support of large-scale surveillance systems.
End users will now benefit from the latest video management software combined with the most advanced integrated server and storage platform.
Representatives from Pivot3 recently gave presentations at the annual Mirasys Partner Event in Barcelona, where more than 60 Mirasys resellers and integrators heard about new developments in networked video surveillance systems.
Continuation of expanded partnership
Mirasys continues to expand partnerships that enable users to store and retrieve the large amounts of data produced from such high resolution cameras.
“Mirasys has been recognised as a technology leader in high resolution, high definition video surveillance,” explained Riivari. “This partnership with Pivot3 is another signal to our customers that we’re expanding our open-platform partner base to include leading-edge server and storage technologies. It will have immediate and significant benefits for video surveillance environments, not to mention customers’ ability to meet their requirements of scalability and high availability infrastructures.”
Continuing the them, Lee Caswell – founder and chief marketing officer at Pivot3 – stated: “Video customers are the ultimate winners when domain leaders like ourselves and Mirasys work together. By closely integrating state-of-the-art components of a video surveillance solution, our joint customers will enjoy a streamlined environment that can smoothly scale with their requirements as they adopt the latest camera technology.”
RAIGE architecture for video applications
