In a Court of Law, it remains a fact that almost 70% of evidence submitted from CCTV systems is inadmissible as it fails to comply with the necessary legislative requirements. Unless and until managers and supervisors harbour a greater knowledge of all the issues involved, this situation is unlikely to change.
“The feedback from our operator courses clearly indicates that there is a definite need to address compliance issues further up the managerial chain if we are to effect real change in the use of CCTV as a means for business protection and crime reduction,” commented Bob Tonkins (pictured), the SOE Academy’s head of training at its Moreton-in-Marsh headquarters. “Our new seminars will aim to address the key issues at stake.”
