It’s songs about security time again, and this week we feature those titans of early 80s pop – Bucks Fizz.
‘My Camera Never Lies’ was their third number one hit, in April 1982. According to Wikipedia: “The song concerns a man who has become obsessed with a woman, who is clearly not interested, but he thinks differently and has convinced himself that she is lying to herself and so pursues her.” Nice.
However, to me it’s clearly about CCTV, and is particularly relevant in the discussion about evidentiary-quality images that can be used by police to prosecute crimes.
It’s also a wonder of retro-futurism. In case anyone has ever entertained fantasies about the working conditions here at info4security.com, well, our offices look almost exactly like the interiors in this video. Also, our outifts are very similar to theirs.
Thanks to highly motivated reader Tracey Postill for this suggestion. Keep yours coming in.
