As part of a GB pound 6.75 million restoration project on the site, Altron Communications Equipment has supplied its popular AW2181 poles for the external CCTV cameras that are monitoring the newly-refurbished glass pavilions and cafe-restaurant area within Sheffield’s historical Botanical Gardens, which date back to 1836.
Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Urban Parks Programme, the restoration project has led to the increased use of surveillance equipment. Altron has been working alongside CCTV installer Whittaker Electrical on behalf of Strata Construction and Sheffield City Council to see the design through.
The AW2181 is the only cylindrical, cabinet-based CCTV pole on the UK market. The poles possess all the installation attributes of the AW2075, but with the base cabinet in a cylinder-style arrangement as opposed to the square base that’s often required by planning authorities.
