Members will be holding a demonstration outside Parliament, before meeting with MPs, to highlight the problem of attacks on licensed drivers.
It wants funding assistance for CCTV and shields in licensed minicabs as well as black cabs.
The protestors will have a placards and a banner saying “GMB says CCTV and shields will save drivers lives”.
According to data from the union, this year so far there have 15 knife attacks, 11 gun attacks and 23 attacks by other weapons on drivers.
Paul Kenny, General Secretary, said: “There is nothing to stop the provision of protective shields and CCTV for licensed minicab drivers vehicles and hackney carriage drivers apart from the indifference to their plight by the authorities that should be looking out for their welfare.”
